"Derek" has three
exceptional, rhythmical paces and the "talent to go all the
way" he is expressive, athletic and powerful with superb
trainability and attitude to work combined with a natural
correct technique over a
fence.
His excellent bloodlines oozes class and
quality with some very illustrious lines which include Ed King
Hill, and Michaelangelo, the Trakenhner Dressage
Stallion. Sevilliano the Improver TB stallion by
Alpenkoenig (Derby Winner), who was Graded by the Holstein
Hannoverian, Oldenburg, Trakehner and Rhein Stud Books not
forgetting Ico who was the proven sire of International
Coloured Sport Horses.
His conformation is near
perfect, with an excellent limb alongside the most
exceptional temperament, making Derek the ideal Sire to put to
larger mares with the aim of breeding smaller horses which
still possess movement and type or to our fantastic British
Native breeds with the aim of injecting movement and
quality.
His progeny are already proving themselves in the show
ring, his 2008 "Dreamtime" was the Champion foal at the Chaps
(UK) Championships Foal Futurity.
He is housed alongside our other stallions in an
American Barn system with mares and foals surrounding and
passing him daily. What more could you ask for? He
is worked in our outdoor manege surrounded by mares, foals,
youngstock and older ridden horses which as you can imagine
often have a mad half hour or try to talk to you over the
manege fence when you are working how many stallions could
deal with that!!!
He has been slowly and correctly
trained under saddle with the intention of competing in the
dressage arena. He is under the regular training and
instruction of Mr Stephen Thompson of Daryl Thickitt Dressage
and has now been presented in the dressage arena at his first
competition with superb results.
We welcome anyone to visit him
and see him at home at any time, although we prefere if you
make an appointment so we have proper time to spend as its
sometimes quite hectic or we could be competing and we
might not be here!!!
